Leak Detection innovation shortlisted for awards
University spin-out company Syrinix has been shortlisted for 'Business Initiative of the Year' in the Times Higher Education Supplement this week The company is leading the way in water-main leak detection, helping major water companies intervene successfully to prevent failure of pipes and subsequent loss of water.

Established in 2004, Syrinix is a commercial spin-out of innovative technology developed by UEA's School of Computing Sciences. The company is helping major water companies intervene successfully to prevent failure of pipes and subsequent loss of water.
Former University lecturer - Paul Linford - now Syrinix Managing Director will represent the company at the awards ceremony in November. He said: "Syrinix has matured from a blue skies research project to a product and service which provides an effective solution for utility providers to combat leaks within trunk mains."
The Times Higher Awards 2006 ceremony and dinner takes place in London on November 15.
