The Select Technology Group, (incorporating Select Software Limited, Select Innovations Limited and EnLight Technologies Limited,) based at Loddon, Norfolk, was selected by the European Venture Institute to take part in the European Venture Contest 2006
The Company went through to the penultimate round of the contest held on Saturday December 11th 2006 at London Business School, Regents Park.
The Norwich Office of the East of England Innovation Relay Centre (IRC), nominated the Select Technology Group for this event. The IRC is part of The St Johns Innovation Centre in Cambridge.
The Norfolk Network team, again based at Norwich, also gave high-level professional help and support with the marketing image and corporate presentation.
The Select Technology Group excels in a broad range of substantial skills in both software design and electronic engineering and have introduced many innovative products to the market place. The Group's extensive knowledge of the lighting industry has resulted in a major shift in the control of Architectural and Street Lighting.
Les Aarons, Select Technology's Commercial Director commented:
"We predict the energy saving in street lighting alone in the UK would reduce carbon emissions by 350,000 tonnes per year. This could result in a cost saving annually to The South Norfolk District Council, one of the smallest authorities in the UK, of around £2 million. We would like thank Kate Duggan, from the IRC and Bev Hurley and Frank Stone from the Norfolk Network for all their help and support.
