| | Anne Miller |
In challenging times it can seem harder than ever to move things forward. Investors postpone decisions, customers delay signing that contract, and even apparently obviously good ideas get blocked. This resistance is frustrating, time consuming and often apparently illogical.
It's easy to get demoralised, but it helps when you realise that resistance is normal, and that there are well proven techniques for overcoming it. Anne will explain why this happens and more importantly, what you can do about it.
The evening will be based on Anne's recent book "How to get your ideas adopted (and change the world.)" www.annemiller.info
As Anne will explain, using fascinating demonstrations and stories, there are four very different stages of resistance (three of which are often ignored). Once we recognise this we can address each in the most appropriate way and significantly improve our chances.
Anne is an authority on creativity and innovation, with an infectious enthusiasm for ideas, and the expertise to help make them reality. She started her career with an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, then spent 20 years leading teams developing innovative products for the world's leading companies. She is one of the world's most prolific female inventors, with 39 patents for a diverse range of products. Her inventions include power tools for Bosch, medical products such as Bayers' DEX blood glucose meter and the manufacturing system for the Femidom (the female condom).
In 1988 she was a co-founder of The Technology Partnership (now one of Europe's leading technology innovation organisations). In 2000 she founded The Creativity Partnership, providing consulting and training for some of the world's most successful organisations. Clients include, Rolls Royce, the NHS, Sainsbury's and Procter and Gamble.
This inspiring evening will give you new insights and practical tips to help you move your business forward. They'll be plenty of opportunity to chat directly to Anne and other members afterwards over a relaxed glass of wine and nibbles.
