Norfolk Network is 15 years young! Better yet, we’re as full of energy as ever, and looking ahead to a genuinely exciting future.
To celebrate a decade and a half of a successful partnership with the business and the HE/FE communities in Norwich and Norfolk, we’d love you to join us for a fun and fascinating evening with Karen Jones CBE, co-founder of Café Rouge and Chancellor of UEA.
Karen studied English and American literature at UEA in the late seventies, then enjoyed a stellar career, founding and growing companies large and small. She was appointed UEA’s new Chancellor in 2016, succeeding Rose Tremain, and is a strong influence on the cultivation of enterprise and entrepreneurship within the university, as well as helping to forge deeper links with industry.
On the evening, Karen will share key insights from her entrepreneurial journey. We will hear (and be able to ask) about pivotal moments and decisions, about her non-executive interests today, and about her vision as Chancellor.
Karen Jones co-founded the Café Rouge restaurant chain in 1989, became CEO of the Spirit pub group in 1999, and is co-founder and chair of the Food and Fuel group of London gastro-pubs and café bars. She holds non-executive positions at National Theatre Enterprises Ltd in the UK and at Firmenich AG, and is an advisor to the board of Cofra Holdings in Switzerland. Karen is also Chairman of both Hawksmoor and Mowgli.
