Neil Garner revealed the man behind the technology and shared the dramatic twists and turns in his career, surviving some profoundly low times, as well as enjoying the exhilarating and surreal moments of substantial growth and success.

The event preceded the launch of Proxama’s “Connected High Street”pilot project in Norwich city centre. Neil gave us an early insight into how this is set to re-imagine the high street and blueprint Norwich and its retailers, as a mobile enabled Smart City.

Proxama are world leaders in mobile proximity marketing, loyalty and secure mobile contactless payments. They work with card issuers, mobile network operators, handset manufacturers, brands, agencies and out-of-home media companies to rapidly launch payment services and location-based marketing campaigns worldwide.

The Connected High Street project app will look to connect the consumer to their local merchants and places, via an aggregated content solution, supporting loyalty and engaging content through the might of mobile. The project will utilise the full range of Proxama’s mobile proximity technologies, including Ibeacons which detect the app and push relevant notifications via Bluetooth Low Energy onto the consumers’ handset. NFC and QR codes support push and pull engagement allowing merchants to deliver mutually beneficial material to its shoppers with the simple gesture of a ‘tap’ or ‘scan’ via their mobile.
