Clare Montgomery and her team are developing an App (working name Periscope) which is going to be an early warning system for the perimenopause using data automatically collected from smartwatches (sleep patterns, skin temperature fluctuations and stress/anxiety) together with manually recorded data (menstrual cycle, mood, brainfog etc).

Using machine learning, they want to help women understand where they are on the progression to the menopause – and as a result of this identify possible medical/alternative treatments (HRT etc).

This session is an opportunity for the team to present to a group of critical friends and discuss their route to market through business. The following week they are competing in the UEA Change Makers Grand Finale to win £3,000 to launch the idea.

The UEA Change Makers is a programme launched in 2022 with the aim to stimulate business ideas that help change people’s lives, the environment, and communities for the better.
