Workshop: Mindfulness works
This one hour workshop explored the concept of mindfulness and its benefits, particularly helping us to build resilience in our working lives. We engaged in a couple of simple practices – some involving some very nice chocolate – to help us reduce stress and retrain our brain, so that we can become more present, focused and curious about our lives and those around us. We learnt a simple and effective mindfulness technique that can be used in daily life, anywhere, at any time.
Workshop leader – Ruth Taylor
Ruth leads on community partnership initiatives for Norfolk and Waveney Mind and manages their Mindfulness Service, delivering courses for employers and the public, including Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for over ten years. She is particularly interested in how Mindfulness can be applied in the workplace and leadership.
