Scott Grandison: making the leap
In 2011 Scott co-founded Outsider Studios with his business partner, Stephen Downey, an acclaimed cartoonist and games industry professional, who is based in Ireland. Together they create apps and games for smartphones for industry leaders such as BBC, Rippleword and Sony/Lionsgate. They bring together some of the most talented creative talent in the world to collaborate on ambitious, high profile projects.
A natural and engaging speaker, Scott candidly shared the soul-searching moments and challenges that led to the exciting realization that he could make the business work.
Education and research is still an important part of his life and after the amazing experience of running the computer games course for the BBC Radio 1 academy, Scott is playing an influential role in helping more young people learn and enjoy coding.
