Norfolk Network event: Avoiding sharks

We became immersed in the world of ocean swimmer, Tracy Clark. But this remarkable woman wasn’t really there to talk to us about how to swim The English Channel, The Catalina Channel or The Gibraltar Strait. Instead she told us how to conquer our fears.

Norfolk Network event: I grew a beard and started a business

We celebrated Global Entrepreneurship Week with UEA students by inviting 28 year old entrepreneur Freddy Furber to share his story of building the global men’s grooming brand Percy Nobleman. But the star of the show was Percy, a character invented by Freddy to tell the brand story through comic book strips.

Norfolk Network summer party

We put the referendum result to one side and enjoyed the beginning of summer with a garden party at Wood Hall. It was a special invitation from UEA’s VC Professor David Richardson to his home, which has been the official residence of UEA VCs since 1963.

Sync The City 2016

We joined the judging panel and presented a prize of 1 year Associate Membership to IT professional Pawel  Sajdak. The ideas were brilliant. We particularly liked the anti-bullying advice bot and smart shopping list app. It didn’t appeal to everyone, but the idea of recycling cut hair from hairdressers to create fabrics was inspired!

Norfolk Network event: Norfolk Noel

We discovered the wonderful Les Garrigues this year, the best place in Norwich for French wine, cheese and characterie. All things to enjoy at this time of year!
